Newport Local History Society was founded in 1984 by a group of local people with the aim of encouraging an interest in the past of our town.
The society has grown considerably over the years, it currently has a membership of approximately 130 people.
We have a very full and interesting programme, we meet regularly every other Wednesday, for talks in the winter and trips in the summer. There are other social activities such as quizzes and an annual dinner.
Anybody is welcome to attend. If you are not a member just come along and see what we do. We are a friendly bunch and always like to see new faces. Click here to see our programme of events.
We always welcome new members, don't let our president put you off, he's a friendly chap - really!
Please contact Andrew Morgan for membership and subscription enquiries.
